Hollywood The Oblique

What I saw and heard on Netflix’s Grace and Frankie, was so inexplicable, I had to listen to the clip several times to pound it into my thick skull that “Yes, they really said that” and that yes, they do believe they are being funny.  People watch to be entertained.  Someone actually thought that this segment you are about to listen to is entertaining.  Listen here, warning, it ain’t easy:  http://throttlebottom.com/graciefrankiemockchristianity/

Its so easy to mock Christians because for the most part Christians will not retaliate abuse in kind.  Do we want to?  You bet. Note that the show did not pick Islam to mock openly.  Wonder why?/s

I came really close to giving the show and its actors a internet beat down.  Something made me stop and not publish my first version.  Perhaps it was Christ’s desire for us to be His hands and feet.  That is to say we are to represent the result of  His teaching and love our enemies and those who hate us.  Not easy to do at times.  Remember that as we are to be His hands and feet, the pagans drove nails threw Christ’s hands and feet.

Pray for them.  They couldn’t be more “misundereducated” or  more obtuse.  It is actually pitiful.  They truly seem to think they are being witty.   Do they mean to be cruel?  Who knows.  Thankfully judging others is above our pay grade.

From a business standpoint, and Hollywood is a business first.  It is illogical at best and just plain idiotic to alienate more than 50% of your demographic, the Christian people of America.

Ask Hillary. Ask the Dixie Chicks.
