Former Navy Seals Ty Woods and Glen Doherty died defending the U.S. annex in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. Also killed that day were Sean Smith and Ambassador Chris Stevens. It is estimated that 30 people survived. They survived only because of the heroism of four Americans who saw what was right and did it. The political repercussions of the Benghaz terrorist attack there so worried the Obama administration including Hillary Clintons Department of State, that they kept the survivors hidden for months, forbidding them to speak to the public or the press.
Why hide them if there is nothing to hide?
Why denigrate the heroic act of the four Americans with the lie about an unrelated and irrelevant video?
Sadly, our leadership on both sides of the aisle appears to be lacking in concern for making the negligent miscreants in the Obama Administration admit their guilt and accept responsibility for their crimes. Thus the crime was committed for politics and so might be the resolution. The hesitation to form a select committee with the subpoena power necessary to get to the facts speaks volumes. From the Washington Times:
“House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican, has resisted — largely, analysts say, because the long-term political risks of a high-profile probe could outweigh any short-term benefit.
‘This issue is not a sure-fire winner politically for the Republicans unless there is some bombshell that can be surfaced through a hearing in a select committee that has not already been surfaced by the multiple hearings that have been held so far,’ said Christopher A. Preble, who has monitored the Benghazi scandal from his office at the libertarian-leaning Cato Institute.
“If you spend a lot of time and there’s no additional information that comes out through the process, then you have the appearance of having, at a minimum, wasted a lot of time on a fairly insignificant matter,” Mr. Preble said.
Wasting a lot of time, he said, means that the Republican focus on Benghazi “just might reflect poorly on the party” as the November 2014 congressional elections approach.”
“Reflect poorly on the party…?”
Failure to launch a select committee with subpoena power will do more than reflect poorly on the party. It will perpetuate the fraud and the fascism that the Obama gang is hoisting on us all. Darrell Issa and fellow Congressman Jason Chaffetz need to generously set aside their leadership roles of their specific hearings that they have championed and sign on to the petition already signed by 150 House members to allow for the select committee to move ahead without delay for sake of the nation.
Its not a mystery. The Benghazi terrorist attack is about the unnecessary deaths of four Americans and the wounding of many more. It is about dereliction of duty for which four innocent heroes paid the ultimate price. Obama, Clinton and their gang found this result to be so acceptable, that they spent more energy insuring the deaths of the four men than it would have taken to give the order to save them. Propaganda to the contrary was served to the nation by Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs Chairman General Martin Dempsey, but they were lying.
Andy McCarty said it best on May 18 in National Review Online:
“Benghazi is about derelictions of duty by President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton before and during the massacre of our ambassador and three other American officials, as well as Obama and Clinton’s fraud on the public afterward”.
Failure of the House leadership to launch a select committee would amount to a tacit approval of the actions of the Obama administration and more importantly their inactions.
