A Season of Gratitude

The below is something written primarily for a Christian prayer and support site that I participate in on facebook, All Things Through Christ.   Normally, what is written here is almost always about politics, but this article shall be one of sheer gratitude, earthly and otherwise,  which this season is not entirely off topic.    I’d be remiss therefore, if I did not share this here.   As we thank God for a President who is not at all shy about anything, we remember to thank God for His gifting us with an earthly leader who recognizes  and worships the Divinity of  God.  He does so  loudly, celebrating the birth of our ultimate leader, God the Father, Christ the Lord, His Holy Spirit.  Thank you, Lord!!  In this gift, to You, only to You Lord be the glory!

As we celebrate the coming of Christ in the Incarnation of God through the virgin birth, remember that His coming as human flesh, was a huge part of His sacrifice for the justification of man.

“This journey of Christ began with the Incarnation. Fuller (Unity of the Bible) says that it would help to picture this as if Jesus were ‘descending a winding staircase stretching for a very long distance from the glory of heaven above far down into a world of watched misery. Each downward step in leaving this glory increased the pain Jesus underwent to pay for our sins’. His point is that ‘a good part of the severity of the punishment Jesus suffered for us consisted in coming down this staircase whose length cannot be exaggerated since it spanned the infinite distance between the Creator and the creature’.”

“Though the pain Christ suffered when He lived on earth is well known to us, it too could never be fully comprehended. He experienced the pain of deprivation, the pain of disappointment as those near to Him, failed Him, the pain of rejection and of facing hatred after He had given so much love, and finally the pain of death. Paul says, “He humbled himself and became obedient to death, even death on a cross!” (phil 2:8, biblegateway.com ) “

“That thought is an amazing paradox; The sovereign God of all creation has become obedient to the wages of sin, the last enemy of fallen humanity! But more serious than this was the eternal chasm that was bridged by His actually becoming sin for us. As Paul exclaimed, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Cor 5:21 biblegateway.com )

“As He hung on the cross having become sin for us, it seemed as if God the Father whose ‘eyes are too pure to look on evil; cannot tolerate wrong” (Hab 1:13 biblegateway.com) had to forsake His Son. So “Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘My God, my God why have you forsaken me?” (matt 27: 46 biblegateway.com ) Martin Luther once pondered this thought alone and at great length while He fasted. He finally arose to say, ‘God forsaken by God?…..Who can understand it’? “

The Supremacy of Christ, Ajith Fernando

All the above gives new perspective into the words of Christ Himself doesn’t it?

“Greater love has no man to give up his life for his friend.” (John 15:13)

Does man have more than his life to give? No, of course not but Jesus does. He gave up more… His Divinity, which is more of course than any man could do, which is what makes His sacrifice the justification for our sins. No one else could do it.

Hallelujah, A King is born who is Christ the Lord. Thank you Jesus.

The Donalds Deal with The Devil

The deal for quick approval to Hurricane Harvey Relief money President Trump made with the Democrat leadership raised the debt ceiling temporarily for 3 months, an almost worthless gift to the Democrats, No matter what Kabuki theatre the Republicans put out there, THEY will ultimately have to raise the debt ceiling for a longer period, which was true before the deal and will remain true after the next bill. He made a deal with the Rats, gave them next to nothing and got help for Harvey victims as a work around to get the aid to TX and LA as fast as possible, sending the message to those beleaguered folks that we’ve got your back. What a concept; concern for the little guy tax payer first.

He actually un-politicized the aid to Harvey victims, by getting the job done in real time. He has proven that unlike the party hacks in Republican Leadership, Trump gives a damn. Raising the debt ceiling is nearly inevitable in any case, so what did he really give up to get the money for Texas and Louisiana? Less than nothing. In making this deal he did something of course less important than aid to Harvey victims; He emphasized that a demon republican elite class is not relevant to the advancement of the Trump’s agenda, because the Elites have made themselves so.
Republicans acting like leftist Democrats make working with the literal Democrats not only not a betrayal, but necessary.

Back in 2010 when so many of us backed Allen West for congress who promised he would not vote to raise the debt ceiling, within a week of getting sworn in, he voted to raise the debt ceiling and joined the congressional black caucus. These kinds of betrayals have become a regular staple of the political diet of the American people. What is in the tap water up there in the District of Criminals? I suspect its Lithium…..or LSD…..or both; The drugs would make the politico’s totally screwed up and really happy about it.

I rest my case.

But at the same time the President sent a message to McConnell and Ryan. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” and they have proven time and time again to be the enemy of the peoples agenda. Remember folks what the DC Republican crowd called the tea partiers after they got them the House and Senate? Everything BUT Nazi’s! Now we are talking betrayal.

What is stopping the GOP leadership from pushing a long term debt ceiling agreement in December? Zero. But the deal did serve to make McConnell swallow his lower lip. There is a pic in the WSJ of him with the DEM leadership and he looks like he is in total shock. Couldn’t happen to a nicer jack ass.*

From the Wall Street Journal –
“ Privately, Senate Republican aides said the deal registered as a rebuke, following a stormy summer in which Senate Republicans failed to repeal the Affordable Care Act and chastised Mr. Trump for his remarks re Charlottesville. Republicans – the stupid party.”

Insanity; The New Collusion

Can you hear it?  There it is again. A quiet but frenzied drum beat building not so far off in the distance.  It is the sound of one new overplayed empty hand striking yet another.  The sound is hollow.  There’s nearly nothing there.

Wonder where all Trumps alleged sexual assault accusers went?  The woman Trump called Ms. Piggy?  The consultant he sent to Cuba in the 90s? Racial discrimination in housing?  Child rape?  Marital rape? Income tax evasion?  Gloria Allred? Rosie O’Donnell screaming “nyet nyet nyet”?

They have thrown almost everything at the wall and consistently miss their target.  Their stockpile boomerangs and piles at the feet of the media in a very steamy, smelly and conspicuous heap.   Hail storms of leftist lies have been thrown not just at the President, but in many ways at the American people.

We haven’t much cared for the experience.

The Presidents use of Twitter has gratefully escalated in response as we’ve been treated to a months long tidal wave of accusatory Trump hashtags #Russia, #obstructionofjustice #parisagreement.  Yet still, no #gotchaTrump”  storyline has gelled for the fake news proliferators.

No evil, corrupt or criminal pseudo-scandal has even scratched the man.  So what’s a committed rules-for-radicals type to do?  Their frustration is showing, but never so desperate or so demonstrative as their latest effort on the heals of the embarrassing failures of #collusion and #blackmail.

They’ve finally arrived at #insanity.

There you have it.  “Insanity” is the new “collusion”.  Watch for it.  They still believe that its not the tactic that they are using against Donald Trump that isn’t working, its the ammunition that’s causing their attacks to fall short.  Albert Einstein is often credited with saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”.

Might we mercifully suggest to the Pravda wing of the Democrat party that it may be time to give the belligerent attacks at the President a rest.

Shattered Expectations

“Shattered” is a new book about the failures of Hillary’s presidential campaign. One of the authors has appeared on shows that like you to think they have a conservative bent and a few that actually do.   I looked forward to reading this book for a rainy Sunday afternoon’s entertainment.  I thought it would be fun to dance all over the facts that brought about Hillary’s political grave,  schadenfreude with ice cream and chocolate on top.  Sadly, there are many democrat narratives throughout the book.  Like the innumerable Clinton scandals, only a partial list is needed to provide more than substantial evidence.

The following examples are taken from location 101 on the Kindle copy of the book.  Glad I didn’t spend the money for  a hard copy,  I don’t have a wood burning fireplace.

L 101:

“She collected nearly 65.9 million votes, more than any other republican in history, just 64,8222 fewer than Barack Obama in 2012, and almost 3 million more than Donald Trump.  And she did it while facing a set of trials and tribulations unlike any other American in campaign history: a partisan congressional investigation; a primary opponent who attacked her character; a rogue FBI director; the rank misogyny of her Republican rival; a media that scrutinized her every move while failing to get that Republican rival to turn over his tax returns; and even a Kremlin-based campaign to defeat her.

Points:

Trials and tribulations unlike any other American campaign in history….
Lincoln, FDR, Reagan and Nixon all had tougher roads to the Whitehouse.  Two out of 4 of  them  had huge wars to deal with, and Nixon and Reagan both had the full bias of the media out to destroy them.  Reagan like Trump, did not have  the support of his own party.  Most of Hillary’s biggest problems were of her own making;  Benghazi, her illegal server leaving our national security at high risk, her past attacks on the victims of  Bill’s acts of sexual violence.  Lets not leave out her using of the Clinton Foundation to launder influence buying payments or that Hillary is not at all well liked.

…a primary opponent who attacked her character
What primary candidate of either party never attacked their opponents’ character?
….a partison congressional investigation
Just because its partisan doesn’t mean it isn’t warranted.  Hillary’s private server was just that, a SERVER.   Our national security information was served up on a silver platter for all our enemies to see on demand.

….a rogue FBI Director
Its is more truthful to say that the rogue appointee in the executive branch was Loretta Lynch, who was never going to prosecute Hillary.

…..rank misogyny of her Republican Rival
If it wasn’t for immigration to America, 45 would not have married two of his wives.  Where’s the misogyny?

….Media scrutinized her every move…
This is a joke, right?

….Kremlin-based campaign to defeat her
There is simply no proof of this.  All that is known is that the Democrat party operation was phished, it wasn’t even hacked.  Where the Russians had no luck getting into the Republican campaign website.

There is more to dispute in just that paragraph provided, but as I’ve tried to say above, enough is all you need.  These statements are just in one paragraph in the intro!  Half way through the book and the pattern of using a democrat party line slant continues throughout.
The authors have bent over backwards to award deference to Hillary, which would be fine if they used facts.   If they had left out the propaganda and the Trump bashing, perhaps “Shattered” would be credible.
As it is, I’d save my money for Mark Levin’s next book.

Carly Fiorino and My Precious Time

So here we are a precious 14 months until the next presidential election.  It is great that there is nothing pressing going on while all these senators and governors run for president.  There are not thousands of Christians being murdered in the middle east.  There are not hundreds of black youth being murdered in the cities every day.   The Keystone pipeline is finished.  Obamacare has been discontinued and ISIS is no more. The border has been secured. Iran now will never have nuclear warheads and Clinton has been cleared of all suspicion.

So, of course then it ’s a journalists priority to cover the election 24 – 7.

Ehhhhhh, maybe not so much./s

It can be said after watching the first presidential debate for 2016 on Fox News Channel, that the candidates behave like contestants on American Idol, all trying to elbow their way to stardom.  The thing is, after a couple seasons we learned to start watching the show 3 weeks before the final vote.  In doing this we avoided wasting hours of precious time and brain cells watching the less talented and the undeserving.

This plan translates directly to Fox’s election coverage.  If the talking heads at Fox are not taking every opportunity for public naval gazing, they are covering unlikely presidential nomination winners like Jim Gilmore.  Oh, and lets find out more about the old feud between Rosie O’Donnell and Trump.  Yeah thats the ticket. /s

Thank the Lord for Carly Fiorina.  She so intellectually outclasses most of the candidates from both major parties that she may have the effect of eliminating the lesser half at faster speed than would otherwise be.  Trump is no longer entertaining and not used to criticism so he should be folding soon.  Carly Fiorino is so quick and articulate, she makes Trump look like Triumph the Insult Comic rather than a candidate for high office.  Lets pray a few hopeless candidates will see the impossibility of their success in this and  leave the race sooner rather than later.  Are you listening Jeb Bush? Trump? Santorum?

In the meantime, Fox needs to break away from its make-up mirrors and do its job, like covering the news rather than trying to make the news or be part of the story like their liberal colleagues do.

I’ll be passing on Fox for a while unless I hear it has suddenly remembered how to put its pants on front ways or management finally goes for dignity and professionalism rather than mud wrestling contests or indecent public exposure.
